AI Agents Will Soon Pay Each Other in Bitcoin, GoBTC Pay Chief Says at Toronto Hackathon

According to BlockchainReporter, Roman Yermoshin, General Manager of GoBTC Pay, stated at the Agnic.AI Agentic Commerce Pioneers hackathon in Toronto that AI shopping agents will soon handle routine purchases and settle payments with one another in Bitcoin. Yermoshin served as a judge at the event, which concluded on September 21, 2026.

GoBTC Pay, a Bitcoin payment protocol developed by GoMining, participated as a Diamond Sponsor. Teams on the GoBTC Pay track built functional prototypes that pay merchants and each other in Bitcoin. Yermoshin noted that autonomous agents require payment rails that do not depend on traditional card networks, which assume a person is present at checkout. GoBTC Pay settles transactions directly on the Bitcoin base layer, utilizing a 2-of-3 multi-signature arrangement and routing payments through GoMining's private mempool built on the Stratum V2 mining protocol. Merchants pay a 0.2% fee, while payers pay nothing, and transactions are processed with no banks or intermediaries.
