According to Bitcoin Magazine, Block’s Proto mining hashboards are now available on Sazmining’s mining-as-a-service platform for individual and institutional buyers. Previously, the hardware was largely restricted to large-scale operators. Each hashboard delivers roughly 200 TH at about 15 J/TH, with buyers owning the hardware outright while Sazmining manages deployment, monitoring, and maintenance at a U.S. facility. Mining rewards are sent directly to the owner's wallet.

This development follows a multi-megawatt supply agreement between Sazmining and Proto, the bitcoin mining division of Jack Dorsey’s Block. Both companies anticipate expanding the deal as demand increases. Sazmining CEO and co-founder Kent Halliburton noted that the company only earns when it produces bitcoin for clients, while pitching mining as a way to spread acquisition costs across a machine's working life rather than paying market price on a single day.

Founded in 2018 and based in Wyoming, Sazmining operates renewable-powered facilities in the United States, Paraguay, and Norway. Meanwhile, Proto represents Block's initiative to make bitcoin mining more distributed and efficient, building on Block's broader ecosystem that includes Cash App and the Bitkey self-custody wallet.
