According to CryptoSlate, Strategy purchased just 334 Bitcoin between Oct. 1 and Oct. 4 for $28.7 million, marking its smallest positive Bitcoin purchase of 2026. This acquisition brought the company's total holdings to 848,000 BTC. The slowdown occurred despite a 43% quarterly rally in Bitcoin that lifted the carrying value of holdings to $70.82 billion as of Sept. 30 and generated an estimated $20.91 billion quarterly digital-asset gain.

Simultaneously, Strategy committed significantly more capital to its variable-rate perpetual preferred stock, STRC. The firm spent $176.3 million repurchasing about 1.77 million STRC shares between Sept. 28 and Oct. 4. These repurchases brought total spending under its preferred-stock repurchase program to roughly $1.45 billion. STRC has remained below its $100 stated amount for nearly 100 consecutive trading sessions.

To support the preferred stock's trading price, Strategy has proposed daily dividends across its four US-listed preferred securities. MSTR shareholders are scheduled to vote on the amendment on Oct. 28. If approved, STRC would begin accruing dividends daily on Nov. 1, with the objective of helping the security trade sustainably between $99 and $100 over time.
