Bitcoin Magazine reports that Bitget suffered a suspected hack with nearly $352M moved from hot wallets, leading to temporarily halted withdrawals.

According to reporting by Bitcoin Magazine, an estimated $351.6 million in cryptocurrency was moved from the hot and warm wallets of the digital asset exchange Bitget in a suspected security breach. Blockchain security firms first flagged the suspicious activity, and Bitget’s security systems detected unauthorized transfers at 18:31 UTC on September 24, 2026.
Bitget CEO Gracy Chen stated that emergency response protocols were activated immediately. In her statements, Chen confirmed that deposits and trading remain operational, but withdrawals have been temporarily paused pending a complete security review. She added that the exchange's cold wallets remain fully secure and that cold wallet layers were not part of the breach.
While blockchain data firm Arkham Intelligence tracked various cryptocurrencies and stablecoins moving from the hot wallets without listing Bitcoin, crypto security firm Hacken reported via X that Bitcoin had also been moved.
Bitcoin Magazine noted that Bitget is based in Victoria, Seychelles, and ranks as the sixth largest exchange by trading volume. The platform stated that every decision and dollar will be accounted for transparently.
