According to BlockchainReporter, OKX and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), the parent of the New York Stock Exchange, have filed a public notice with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to launch a venue for trading tokenized U.S. stocks. The filing from their joint venture, OKXICE LLC, proposes round-the-clock trading of blockchain-based shares in 63 U.S.-listed companies, paired with stablecoins.

The system is built on Uniswap v4 pools deployed on OKX’s layer-2 network, XLayer. Trading requires wallets to hold a soulbound token issued after identity and sanctions screening. Each tokenized share pairs with USDC, USDG, or USDT. The proposed lineup includes Nvidia, Apple, Microsoft, Tesla, and Coinbase. A registered broker-dealer must hold underlying shares one-for-one against outstanding tokens, and token holders maintain conventional dividend and voting rights.

Issuers have 30 days to object, with an objection already recorded from Cerebras Systems. Trading will halt in a tokenized share whenever the underlying stock halts on its primary exchange. The launch remains dependent on remaining regulatory steps.
