According to reporting by Bitcoin Magazine, Wall Street giant Morgan Stanley has launched a "digital asset lab" to test various crypto products. Citing a Bloomberg interview with Megan Brewer, the head of firmwide market innovation and labs at the bank, the report states that the facility provides a secure, compliant, and segregated environment to explore digital asset areas.

The lab's team is testing products such as stablecoins, decentralized finance applications, tokenized deposits, central-bank digital currencies, and tokenized money market funds. This follows previous crypto movements by Morgan Stanley, which became the first bank to debut a bitcoin exchange-traded fund in April, known as the Morgan Stanley Bitcoin Trust, currently managing over $871 million in assets. In 2021, the bank began offering wealthy clients exposure to bitcoin via funds such as those by Galaxy Digital.

Additionally, CEO and Chairman Ted Pick previously stated the bank was working with regulators to offer crypto products safely, while Amy Oldenburg, the bank's head of digital assets, noted that client education remains the central challenge facing Bitcoin adoption.
